Dear Friends,
WHAT A SEASON!
We began with the warmth and romance of
Outside Mullingar.
Then you made Private Lives the biggest hit
in Schoolhouse Theater history.
Now that extraordinary momentum carries us
toward our final production of 2026—and we intend to finish the season royally.
WINTER IS COMING…
Before Game of Thrones, there was
The Lion in Winter.
Christmas, 1183. King Henry II has gathered England’s most combustible family for the holidays—and everyone wants the crown.
Wickedly funny, deliciously treacherous, and wildly entertaining, James Goldman’s modern classic is a dazzling battle of wits in which alliances shift, every embrace masks a scheme, and every declaration
of love is a bid for power.
At the center of it all are Henry and Eleanor: one
of the greatest, funniest, fiercest couples ever
written for the stage.
They have shared a kingdom, a family, a bed, a civil war—and several attempted betrayals.
Now they must survive Christmas together.
The Lion in Winter is history with a pulse: passionate, suspenseful, unexpectedly moving, and tremendous fun.
In the intimacy of The Schoolhouse Theater, you won’t merely watch the struggle for the throne.
You’ll be in the room where it happens.
THE LION IN WINTER
By James Goldman
Directed by Owen Thompson
December 4–20
Our audiences have made this a remarkable season.
Join us as we bring it to a thrilling conclusion.
🎟 Reserve your tickets now!
A crown is waiting.
A family is gathering.
And Winter is Coming…
